Fantic 300 build

A few years ago i had to sell my SWM after badly dislocating my knee again … but you can't keep away for too long
.. i now have a Fantic 300 that needs completely rebuilding, i am going tio build it up to see how it runs and then possibly have the frame, fork lowers, yokes etc powder coated the correct colour.
My aim is to keep it as original as possible, no cutting or welding footrests, no change of forks and with the standard 300 engine… i am even using the original Marzocchi rear shocks after having serviced them with new seals etc …

.. quick image from my phone .. it now runs and just needs the small finiahing parts like chain and number board etc.

It is a good way to learn … buy a bike in several boxes

It has been built for riding so not very pretty at present as i have not powder coated the frame etc ..
Had a little play on my driveway tonight ..

Another 300 arrived at the weekend .. this one is a French 239cc version

I have two Fantic 300"s and the Beta Rev3 .. but the Beta and one Fantic will be sold to finance the next project

Not sure yet .. will have to see what comes along

First ride yesterday … rode really nice and everything was good until suddenly a strange noise from the gearbox. There was a bit of a clunk and now no clutch and stiff to kick start so will have to take side casing off to see what happened … hopefully just a small clutch issue, or i will have to remove engine and put the 239cc one in there whilst i work on this one ..
Got it muddy anyway

doesen't look good !

Borrowed the clutch basket from the 239cc motor .. and went and rode for 4 hours. .. all went well
