32 years late..!
In 1980 i owned a 320 SWM, finally 32 years later i have another one..

The engine is being fitted with a new 4th gear and i will have some new Betor shocks on the back. The bike has come to the UK from Italy where it was used most of it's life just as a road bike.
Thanks to my friend Martin at motoswm.com for the new parts.
More images as i start the rebuild.

Re: 32 years late..!
Many thanks.. feels good to be back in the SWM world
I want to try and keep the bike looking reasonably standard, although i will be moving the footrest position.
What is the best way for lightening the clutch action? I m going to extend the inner arm by 15mm and try that first... i don't want to have to go the route of using an Aprilia side casing.
I will be getting my brake shoes relined with a special compound that is designed to work on industrial machinery, so it works in water. A friend has this done to his SWM and the front brake is better than the disc brake on my recently sold Beta Evo..!

Re: 32 years late..!
When i rode my friends SWM and touched the brake lever i prompted went over the bars!! It was actually too good and i had to slacken the adjustment off!
I will send my brake shoes to them this week and have them relined and report back on how it works... i do know that they work even better if they are matched to the brake drum so that the maximum surface area contacts when the brake is used... but i will try the shoes only first and see what result i have.
My friend, Dave Dawson, has actually reverted back to the original front operating lever position rather than turning it 180 degrees as the brake is so good. Here is an image of his very special SWM and also my friend Martin Mathews 320 Jumbo that I rode in an event recently.

Re: 32 years late..!
I have just won an Aprilia TXR312 complete on ebay... so i may have a better clutch and fork yokes, rear wheel and an aluminium swing arm to modify!!
Re: 32 years late..!

I have had my brake shoes relined with the special compound and they are on the way back to me... it works out at around £11 (uk pounds) per shoe, not cheap but if they work as well as the ones on the bike i have ridden well worth it.
I have discovered tonight that the Aprilia TXR312 steering stem and top and bottom yokes fit straight onto the SWM. They are 35mm so the original Marzocchi's will fit and they allow bolt on bar clamps so i can use Renthal fatbar.

Re: 32 years late..!
You may be correct... i forgot to ask what it was called. I will email them and ask.
I took the clutch cover off the Aprilia TXR312 today and started to clean it up ready to spray black ready to go on the SWM.

Re: 32 years late..!
I now have a Jumbo aluminium swing arm and Betor fronk forks for my bike as well.. and my friend Martin mathews has had an SWM seat logo blank made so he can produse embossed seat covers just like the originals, i will have one soon.
Footrest position is going to be changed shortly and also Aprilia TXR top steering yoke modified to carry Renthal Fatbars.
