Re: 32 years late..!
That was owned by a friend of mine who has just sold it... he has now got a 300 Fantic!!
I am going to make some hanger plates to weld the footrests too so that i can move them if needed.. i will use countersunk bolts to fit them to the frame instead of welding them on and if i need to move them to get a better position it will only need a couple of holes drilled.
In this photo you can see i have removed the original footrests and you can see the cardboard templates i have made for the hangers... also a new seat cover is arriving tomorrow.

Re: 32 years late..!
yes a bit of a mess. We are in the middle of moving my mother to the house next door, which means i will get an extra garage to use But everything has to be stored in mine at the moment!
On the plus side i have many spares now that with a frame and wheels i could build another SWM shortly

Finally i have some time to start work on the rebuild ... engine in and Jumbo swing arm fitted. I also made some footrest hangers that will be drilled so i can move them to find the correct position.

The engine is being fitted with a new 4th gear and i will have some new Betor shocks on the back. The bike has come to the UK from Italy where it was used most of it's life just as a road bike.
Thanks to my friend Martin at motoswm.com for the new parts.
More images as i start the rebuild.

Re: 32 years late..!
... gradually getting there. I have had to move my Mother into a new house recently and sort out all the old stuff from the previous house so not had much time lately to continue with the SWM. But now have a week off work so will try and get it together!!

Re: 32 years late..!
The two bikes seem in excellent condition. Very nice pictures . I also had a problem with the kick start.
Here is a few weeks a friend had a 320 82 'for sale, I waited too long and the bike has been sold!
Regards Jackrider

Re: 32 years late..!
I have put the swm barrel, piston and head onto the aprilia bottom end and now have it fitted back in the frame... i just have to block up the valve that the aprilia's had on the bottom of the engine and add the swm backplate on... then the Aprilia flywheel as it is lighter in weight than the swm one... and i prefer a faster engine.
